Administrative Leadership Candidate
It is through PBIS, that the team identified four areas of improvement. Year-to-date, we have made significant improvement in all of these areas.
Citizenship
In order to encourage studens to become better citizens, we implemented a citizenship program similar to one at a nearby school. Through this program, students are rewarded for exhibiting positive behaviors.
Year-to-date, the class of 2021 was improved their citizenship scores from 3.30 to 3.60, the class of 2020 has improved their scores from 3.41 to 3.52, and the school as a whole has improved from 3.36 to 3.55.
Missing Assignments
When the PBIS team asked for feedback from the teachers at the end of the 2012-13 school year, one of the areas of concern that became apparent was students not turning in their assignments.
Throught the missing assignments goal, the school reduced their first quarter missing assignments by over 40% from 1,997 to 1,162 in just one year.
Tardiness
Getting to class on time is an important aspect of the educational process, so reducing tardies has been a goal off-and-on since PBIS was first implemented.
School Cleanliness
Cleanliness, too, has been a part of the PBIS goals in one form or another for many years. Originally focusing on the cafeteria, it has now been expanded to the entire school.
PBIS Lessons
The team analyzed several forms of data each month including goal collection data and office referals to plan a month PBIS lesson that will be presented to students. These lessons have taken many forms includling teacher-led discussion, PowerPoint presentations, videos, etc.
